At the WABA CommUNITY 5K & Pick Your K Race runners and walkers can select between a 1K, 3K and 5K race down West Broad Street, a National Historic Highway, on Saturday, June 24 at 8:30 am. Starting at Lincoln Village Plaza by Old Village Rd., racers will head west down tree lined West Broad Street. 5K participants will race to Westland High School then return down West Broad Street. All 5K registered participants will receive a t-shirt and participation medal with their registration fee. 1K and 3K participants can purchase a t-shirt. Register early for a reduced rate!
The race is followed by the Westland Independence Day Parade at 10 am on West Broad Street. Food and drinks are available from local restaurants along the route. After the parade the Prairie Township Fire Department holds it 68th Annual Fish Fry at the fire house, one block off West Broad Street, at 123 Inah Ave., Columbus.
